Gliding 2004 .... 2010
After starting in 1993 on K13 training gliders, I went solo the following summer. After that I flew single seaters : K8, Junior, Grob 102, DG101, ASW 19, DG 300 etc. Also 2 seaters : K21, Grob, Dues Discus and DG 1000. Now I enjoy flying the DG300 and Discus. My longest flight was more than 6 hours and it's common to make flights of 4 or 5 hours in the summer thermals. Trial flights are available at Lasham : you will sit in the front with instructor in the back and get a chance to fly the aircraft after take-off. Launches are by aerotow or winch. Discus climbing in wave ! Thermals only go to cloud-base. Wave is a type of lift generated by
mountains and one can reach record breaking heights. It is unusual in South of England though
